Five Tips to Help You Shop Online For Sexy Panties and Lingerie

Shopping online for panties and lingerie saves time, and most online stores offer more color and size choices than physical stores. Some stores also offer free shipping when you place an order that meets their price guidelines. That's a bonus! Once you know how to shop for panties and lingerie online, and you've bookmarked your favorite store, any purchase you make in the future will take you less than five minutes.

To become an adept online shopper, especially when ordering panties, you must consider five things before clicking the order button.

1. Check the website's refund and exchange policies. You should also check your state's laws regarding the return of undergarments, since some states may not allow it, regardless if the website says they have a return policy. Make sure the online store will allow you to return any items that don't fit correctly. In addition, make a mental note if you have to return your merchandise within a specific timeframe to receive a refund, or to exchange it.

2. When viewing panties online, focus on the panty's design, color, pattern, and any stated measurements regarding the height of the rise, or the width of the fabric, rather than looking at the model who's wearing the undergarment.
3. Be sure to pay attention to the type of fabric the panties are made of, and if the crotch area is lined or unlined. If the washing instructions tell you that the panties must be dry cleaned, you'll want to know that before you buy them.

4. Review the sizing chart for the style of panties that you want to order, since a size "small" or "medium" may vary as much as an inch, depending upon which company makes the panties. If you're buying microfiber or stretch lace, you might be able to buy the panties in a smaller size to get the most comfortable fit. Also note that some designer panties are available in a "one size fits all" category.

5. Take advantage of quantity discounts, and resist paying high costs for overnight delivery, especially if you need the panties for a trip the next day. Delays happen, and most times, you could easily buy a second pair of panties for the extra shipping charges.

After placing your first order for panties through an online store, it will help you establish a baseline for all future purchases. You'll know how many days it took to process your order, and you'll know how long it took your order to arrive. If the store allows you to save your customer information, then your next purchase will take less time. In addition, if your prior purchases are viewable online, you can quickly choose the same item number the next time you shop.

Hanky Panky Panties - How to Determine What Size Panties to Buy When You Shop Online

Hanky Panky panties are known as being the most comfortable fitting panties in the world, because when you buy the right size for your body's shape, you don't even feel like you're wearing panties. Nevertheless, how do you determine what's the perfect size when you buy panties online?

As women, we all know that a size "small" means different measurements to different vendors. Therefore, it's not easy to find a store online that sells Hanky Panky panties and assume that a size small at Victoria's Secret will be the same as buying a size small or a "one size fits all" at another store. Sizing in America is not consistent among panty manufacturers.

Women want panties that fit their body's shape and contour, and we don't want panties that ride up or feel unnatural. To help you through the painful process of buying and exchanging panties at a local store or mall, there is a way that you can buy panties online with almost guaranteed success...size-wise.
How to Find the Right Size Panties for Your Body's Size and Shape

When buying panties online, especially Hanky Panky panties, you need to know only two measurements-your waist and your hips. Ideally, you will have an assistant or a close friend who can measure you. It will save you a lot of time, and since someone else is measuring you, she will most likely take more accurate measurements than you could perform on yourself. Make sure that your body's measurements correspond to the sizing available for the panties you're buying.

How to Take Your Waist Measurement

You can take your waist measurement by wrapping a cloth tape measure around the natural break in your waist. To locate your waist's location, if it isn't obvious, just bend to one side (right or left). Find the crease that results while you're bending sideways. Place your finger there to mark the location. Then just measure around, and jot down the number of inches for your waist's size.

How to Take Your Hip Measurement

Take the tape measure and wrap it around the fullest part of your hips, and make sure that the line of the tape measure is parallel to the floor. (That's why it's best to have someone assist you.)

Once you have your waist and hip measurements written down on a sheet of paper, the next things to consider are the fabric choices, styles, and the stated sizes that the site carries in their inventory.
Finally, to determine your correct panty size, if your measurements fall between two panty sizes on the website's sizing chart, choose the larger size in the measurement's range. For example, if your waist measurement is twenty-nine to thirty inches, and your hip measurement is thirty-nine to forty inches, the equivalent panty size would be a size seven, or a large.

Suffering From Breast Pain? - A Different Bra Could Be the Cure

Do you get soreness or just outright pain in your breasts? Known as Mastodynia, the discomfort may be something that a simple bra change could resolve.

Mastodynia is one of many types of breast pain. It is somewhat of a catch all phrase, but describes a pain that can be dull or sharp and can come and go. It doesn't get much more obtuse than that, eh?

For most women, the real fear of Mastodynia is that it is an indication of the dreaded breast cancer. The good news is it usually is not. Breast cancer usually presents as a lump and the lump is rarely painful. Mastodynia, on the other hand, is often more a result of pain in joints surrounding the breasts or an underlying arthritic condition. In short, we are talking apples and oranges.
If you suffer from pain in the breast, there are a number of different strategies for dealing with the problem. In some cases, changes to a person's diet can make a world of difference. This is particularly true if you drink a lot of caffeine. Since there are different causes and different manifestations to breast pain, diet is not a cure all.

Changing your bra probably does not sound like a form of treatment to you. In truth, it can make a world of difference. Why? Well, most women wear the wrong size of bra. Even if they get the size correct, the often wear the bra incorrectly which can cause a lot of pain through the neck, shoulders and breast.
This combination can make you miserable over time. In a recent UK study, women suffering from breast pain were given a professional bra fitting for a full support bra. 24 percent of them were "cured". Obviously, there was no cure other than getting a comfortable fit. It may sound unbelievable, but think about wearing pants that are two sizes too small. After a while, you are going to be miserable and your waistline is going to be painful to the touch.

As women, we are fearful of breast cancer and rightly so. Pain in your breasts, however, usually is not a sign of breast cancer, so don't panic when it occurs. Instead, get a professional bra fitting to see if that takes care of the problem. If it doesn't, then speak with a doctor about your options. Again, Mastodynia is rarely a first indicator of breast cancer, so don't be miserable because you are afraid to go see a doctor. You could be living in pain for no reason whatsoever.

Lingerie Terms For Men Trying to Buy Valentine's Day Gifts

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and that means you are on the spot to get your loved one something nice. Yes, flowers are nice. The same goes for chocolate. But what about something a bit more intimate? Yes - lingerie.

The first thing men learn when considering buying lingerie for the first time is the selection. There are a shocking number of ways to go. Trying to make heads or tails of the different options can be difficult. In this article, we solve that problem. Yes, we are detailing some of the key types of lingerie available so you can talk the talk when shopping for it.

The Baby Doll - This is a safe bet for any man looking for an intimate gift. It is a short, soft top that comes with matching panties. The top hangs down like a dress to the hips and is very intimate. The real beauty of this option is it tends to come in a one size fits all version. In short, you don't have to run the risk of getting the wrong size.

Corsets - Also called bustiers, this is the classic bra/waist piece that most men picture with lingerie. It pushes the breast up and then extends tightly over the waistline. The actual goal of this fashion piece is to create an hourglass look, but men should be wary when buying this as a gift. They are not particularly comfortable and some women do not like them. Make sure that special lady in you life does.
G-String - All men know what a g-string is, so I will not take the time to explain it. What I will say, however, is women tend to dislike g-strings in proportion to the number of men who love them. Some women do love them, but most find them uncomfortable. Try walking around with a small rope between your buns and you'll soon know why. Regardless, make sure she already owns and wears them or your gift could go down poorly.

Teddy - The Teddy is a magical lingerie piece. It is the comfortable for us gals and exceedingly sexy for men. So, should you rush out and buy one for the woman in your life? No! A Teddy is a great choice for a woman, but there is a huge problem with them. They have very particular fits. This means that it is very hard to size them correctly. Just because your gal pal wears a size 3 does not mean this size of Teddy will fit. In general, men should avoid buying a Teddy as a gift. It will almost always be too big or small - a recipe for an unhappy woman!

So, what should you select? Well, the answer requires the correct perspective. Remember, you are not buying what you like. You are buying what she likes. A woman who feels sexy is sexy. A woman who feels uncomfortable is not. Think about what she has worn in the past and you should be able to get a pretty good idea of which direction to go.

A Man's Guide to Buying Lingerie For His Partner For Valentines Day

Men, would you like to buy some new lingerie for your wife, partner or girlfriend this Valentine's Day? Has your partner dropped subtle hints about what she would like but you never manage to follow through?

If so, are you unsure how to navigate this minefield and worried that she will not like your choice and therefore probably refuse to wear it? Women ask many questions when buying lingerie but men have to ask even more. You also have the additional fearful considerations like: will I buy the right size? what colour will suit her best? will it fit? and, the most important questions of all, will she ever speak to me again?

Remember the first thing to do is your research since it's important to buy her something that she will actually enjoy wearing and won't take offence to. If it is possible, carefully sort through her underwear drawer to find the size of her bra and knickers. Also, take a look at the type of underwear she prefers. Is it cotton or silk, plain or lacy? If it is quite plain then she is unlikely to like anything with loads of lace and similarly, if it is all lacy layers and ribbons, don't opt for plain underwear!
If you know her size then that is a good start but if you do not and you buy something that's too small, although she may feel flattered you think she is that size it could also be embarassing since she would have to tell you she was larger. On the other hand. if you buy something too big she will see this as you seeing her larger than she really is and so she will probably never talk to you again! It really is a minefield!

Nowadays lingerie comes in a myriad of colours. For Valentine's Day you do not have to buy red, black is usually also a good choice. You could also take some hints from the colours she wears. However, for gift lingerie, don't go for white. If you really cannot make up your mind, then soft shades like champagne, peach or cream look great on any skin.

Once you have decided on the colour, you will need to consider bra shape. Under-wired bras tend to give a better shape and lift. Plunge styles are the most flattering for the majority of women. A word of warning. You will not be popular if you purchase items with words like 'slimming', 'padded' or 'control' on them. This could be interpreted as meaning you think she is not slim, needs padding or, worse still, is out of control!

Choosing something sexy does not always mean excessively lacy. For example, smooth fabrics such as silk and satin feel luxurious and will look better under blouses and fitted tops. If possible, always try to buy matching sets with an extra pair of knickers so she can wear the set for longer.

Since this is a special Valentine's gift, try to buy the best you can afford since you really do get what you pay for. Cheap underwear does not always provide good support and certainly does not last as long either.

Several shops now offer a gift wrapping service which is excellent for getting your beautiful new lingerie beautifully presentable. If no service is available, then buy a gift box and a big silky ribbon and do it yourself.

Many stores now have specialist lingerie advisors. Unfortunately, some men are still either afraid or too embarrassed to ask them for advice. If you have followed the above guide to buying lingerie but have still been unable to find anything to purchase, then you could consider using an image consultant from Colour Me Beautiful who will be able to go to the shops with you and help you in your choice.

Minimizer Bra - Its Benefits to Plus Size Women

Breast size has always been a concern of a lot of women. Because of the perception that "bigger" is beautiful, ladies rush to the store buying push-up bras or silicone bra inserts that will give them more volume and a deeper cleavage.

While many women want to increase their breast size, truth is there are still some girls who would wish to reduce their bust size even up to a cup size smaller. Many plus size women find their big bosoms make their clothes look ill-fitting - a common example of which is when gaps form on their button-up blouses. Others just find that having such a cleavage makes the clothes they wear unflattering.

Some find a solution in surgical procedures such as reduction, but there is a more painless and easier way to achieve the look you want that wouldn't require you to go under a knife. The answer can be found simply in a minimizer bra.

Minimizer bras are designed to reduce the appearance of your bust size. The cups, which are usually molded, are made to re-shape your breasts. It pushes your busts toward your chest instead of gathering it towards the front and pushing it up. By distributing the breast tissue away from the front and just towards your underarm area, a minimizer bra creates the illusion of a smaller bust, about a cup size lesser.
One of the great benefits of wearing a minimizer bra is that it smooths out the front of your shirts and eliminates the problem of your blouse gapping. It also gives your a better silhouette under your clothes. While they may come either with underwires or as a soft cup bra, minimizer bras give you the much-needed support. Aside from that, most minimizer bras have comfortable cushioned straps and stronger - sometimes wider - side and back bands to make you feel more comfortable as you wear them.

With the emerging plus size fashions, manufacturers are making minimizer bras readily available to many full figured women. Minimizer bras can go up to sizes 48G or 52DDD. Many of them are sold in colors that are fashionable and designs that are chic and attractive.

Of course, the key in achieving the look you want with your minimizer bra is to get the right bra size. So always remember to get fitted for the right size so your minimizer bra can do wonders for you.

Choosing the Right Bra to Flaunt Your Assets

Wearing a quality bra takes lots of pounds off you. You look slimmer and younger with the right bra. No more worries about sagging breasts.

Men basically are visual creatures. They are turned on by what they see. More importantly , the teasing and expectation factor generate more thrills and excitement for him. It is the anticipation that whets his appetite and tantalize him.

There is such a wide range out there that one can simply get lost in it.
The trick is to find a bra that convey sensuality, femininity and class. You shouldn't pick those that convey an image of slutishness or which give an image of a whore.
Men are easily turn on the female form . Buy a bra that bares as much skin as possible and yet teases him by covering your assets.
You want to pick one that men can find it easy to take off. Imagine his frustration during your most intimate moments and he is stumped by your bra. Get a bra that unhooks at the back rather than the front. Both you and your lover can take it off in double quick time.

Pick a bra which is soft so that he can feel your bosom beneath the bra and this is a merely a preview of what is to come.
Men love lacy bras as these convey a softness and delicacy. Other soft fabrics include cotton , silk and satin.

Choose Lycra/Spandex as they stretch and hug the body and shows off your curves. Lycra / Spandex retain their shape better too. Microfiber fabric is made from ultra-fine man-made fibers. It is super lightweight , feels silky and makes undergarments mold to the body making you look sexier than ever.

Bra with underwire will also give support to your breast and give a fuller bosom.

Buy bra with adjustable straps so that there will be no slack on your back. By tightening the straps the bra cups can be pulled upwards giving you the appearance of bigger and perkier breasts.
Consider wearing demi bra that covers your breasts partially. It's a great idea as it allows you to wear low cut dresses or blouses and maybe unbutton one or two buttons on your shirt.

For women who want to boost their assets, consider getting a push up bra to drive your man crazy . It makes your cleavage fuller and ample. Another bra that does the same trick is the padded bra. Some bras may be filled with liquid to enhance your assets. Consider these gel filled bras.
We come next to colors. I find black, pink and red very seductive and desirable.
Also consider choosing skin tone colors. Men just go nuts thinking you have nothing on. Heighten the excitement further by going sheer. Furthermore, skin color bra lets you wear any outfit without the bra being obvious.
Your clothing can be used to further enchance the sexy appeal of your bra.

You can either wear a sheer white blouse with black bra or the other way around.
It will surely get him talking.
Expose part of your bra when you are wearing spaghetti or strappy dress or blouse. Celebrities like to show off their bra straps too. Shakira, Avril Lavigne and Jennifer Love Hewitt occasionally show them off. You can match the bra with your clothing or you can have contrasting colors with your clothing and match your bra with your lipstick or jewelry color too.

Bra Cleaning

Start cleaning by spraying any sweat stains with some prewash spray. Next, you should hook the bra together and twist the bra in the middle so one cup is tucked into the other one. You should buy, if you don't have already, a bra bag. Bra bags keep your bras safe while throwing them into the washing machine. You should then place one bra on each side of the bra bag. Then, pour two to three cupfuls of baby shampoo into your washer.

You should make sure to use the most gentle and lightest cycle on the washing machine. After the cycle of washing is done, remove the bras from the bag and unhook them. Lastly, lay the bras flat to dry. You can place them on top of the drying machine or even place them on a drying rack. Never put your bras into the drying machine because it can harm and ruin them. It is the easiest way to dry them, but if you want your bras to stay looking new and also not harm them, then you should air dry them. Below are some tips to keep in mind while washing your bras:

1. Some bras cannot be washed in the washing machine. Make sure to check the label on your bra before washing them.
2. Bra bags do not always fit some larger sized bras, so do not go out buying the bag if it will not fit.
3. The method above will not always clean sport bras after wearing while working out, make sure to check other methods on how to clean certain bras.

Proper Bra Sizing: What Every Woman Should Know

Most women do not wear the correct bra size. With monthly water retention cycles, dieting, and general aging, it also should not be assumed that the size you were two years ago is the same size you are today (or that a bra can be worn that long, for that matter). Even a change of 5 pounds can change your bra size. This guide will help you to properly measure your bust, so that you can find the size for you.

While most shops will have a salesperson to assist you in proper measurements, in order to buy sexy lingerie from a catalog, it is important to know your size.

How To Know If Your Current Bra Does Not Fit

The back rides up. This may mean that the cups are too small, or the band is too tight. The front of the band is too tight to get a finger under it. This means you need a larger band.

The bra cups should be entirely filled, or you may need a smaller cup. If, on the other hand, the cups are overflowing, you may need a larger cup or a different style of bra.

If the underwire digs in, you may need a larger cup size. (Or your bra could just be very old. In either case, it's time to replace it.) This could also be an indication that the side wings of the bra are not large enough.
Proper Measurements

First, you will need three measurements: under bust, upper bust, and full bust.

For under the bust, measure directly under your bust. With all measurements, hold the tape secure but not too tight. For the upper bust, measure above the bust and below the arms.

If the difference between the under and upper bust is less than two inches, the under bust is your band size (round up to nearest even number). If the difference is more than two inches, add 2-3" to the under bust measurement to get an even number and use this as your band size. For the full bust, measure around a fullest part of your breast. Make sure the tape is secure around the back.

Your cup size is determined by your full bust measurement - your upper bust measurement. If the difference is less than 1", you are a AA, 1" is an A, 2" is a B, 3" is a C, 4" is a D, 5" is a DD (or an E), etc.

Beyond Measurements

Of course, your measurements are just the beginning. There are other things to keep in mind when looking for a comfortable, yet sexy bra.

When trying on different bras, make sure that the area in between the two cups actually comes into contact with your chest. Do not make the straps support your breast alone! This will be very uncomfortable over long periods of time, the bra will wear out quickly, and the pressure on the straps can cause back problems.

If you are finding the band sizes to differ for a different brand, you may also need to change your cup size. Generally, as you decrease the band size, you will need to increase your cup size, while a larger band will call for a smaller cup.

Bra Styles

Different styles of bras have different fits. Beware the convertible bras: while they may sometimes work, it is rare that every possible style will work for your body.

Full Cup / Full Coverage - Designed for support, these bras cover the entire breast.

Half Cup / Demi Cup - These bras cover 75 percent of the breast. This is a sexy cut that increases cleavage, but make sure your breasts are not "cut-off" in the center. Your profile should still be smooth, and if it isn't, you need a larger cup size.

Underwire Bras - These bras give the most support.

Racerback Bras - These bras have a crossover pattern in the back. They can have a front or back clasp, or can simply pull over the head. This is a common style for a sports bra.

Halter-Top Bras - As the name imply, these bras have a strap that loops around the neck, rather than the usual shoulder straps. These bras can increase cleavage, and can be worn with both halter tops and tops with low center coverage.

Backless Bras - While some backless bras literally have only front coverage, generally this refers to bras with extremely low backs, so that many dresses with low backs can be worn without the bra showing.

Strapless Bras - These bras have no straps at all, only the band. Some of these can cover the stomach area as well, and some even cover the body like a leotard. These longer strapless bras tend to stay in place better.

Padded Bras / Push-Up Bras - These bras have extra padding in the cups in order to give the illusion of a larger breast and/or to increase the cleavage. The padding can be made of the same material as the bra, foam, or gel. Gel is becoming more popular because of its more natural look. In some bras, the padding is removable.

Décolleté - These bras are lower cut than a demi bra, allowing you to wear something even lower cut without revealing your bra.

Light-Support Bras - These bras have no underwire. While you may be tempted to wear one to an all-day event, if you are larger than an A cup, you may not be getting the support you need. A properly fitted bra will be comfortable whether or not it has underwire.

Sports Bra - These bras are designed to minimize bouncing during athletic activity. While some inexpensive varieties do this by squishing your breasts, it is better to find on that is sized by cup sizes (as opposed to small, medium, and large) and get fitted as you would with a regular bra. Over the long term, this will increase your comfort.

Nursing Bras - For the convenience of nursing mothers, these bras have a snap on each of the shoulder straps, so she can easily remove them to feed the baby without taking off the entire bra. Generally, nursing bras are full-coverage for the added support a new mother needs.

Now you can order all your intimate apparel with confidence! So next time you find the perfect little black dress, you can be sure you will look your best

10 Signs You Need a New Bra!

If you're like most women, you dread the day you have to go bra shopping. Women have mental lists of reasons why to not shop for bras: they're expensive, they don't like to shop for themselves, and they don't have the time or the patience to try on every bra in the store, or just can't find the right fit! Frustrating? There's no avoiding it-sometimes you need to buy a new bra-and that doesn't mean when the wires are poking you through the fabric! Knowing when to get a new bra is essential to helping you keep bras that are comfortable and shapely. Here are a few reasons you may be in need of a new bra-now.

1. If Last Summer was the last time you bought a bra. Bra shopping can be expensive. It can be easy to spend $50, $75, or even $100 on a bra, but there are plenty of bras for under $30 as well! Think of it this way, if you can spend that money on a mani/pedi or a couple of movie tickets, you can definitely spend it on a bra!

2. A Special Occasion. Do you have a wedding coming up? A 'formal' dance maybe? There are certain occasions you may need to wear a strapless or 'convertible' bra-essential to every woman's wardrobe!

3. Great News! You're Pregnant! You may not need a maternity bra just yet, but expect to grow a couple of sizes during your pregnancy. Even women with small breasts will eventually need a bra with underwire for support during pregnancy. Taking care of your breasts during pregnancy and nursing, with good bras, can minimize post-baby sagging. Look to brands such as Bali, Playtex, and Calvin Klein for comfortable pregnancy/nursing bras.

4. Your bra just doesn't fit right. If your bra is stretched, the back strap rides up, you're constantly adjusting, or you're embarrassed to wear a tight-fitting shirt-you need a different bra. Be honest with yourself first-Do you wish you were a C cup, but are really a B cup? Or what if a DD is just too small for you? Your bra should support and shape you, without restricting you. Your bra should not be loose in any way when you stand up straight. Don't be ashamed to check out full-figured or plus-sized bras for the right fight. If you wear t-shirts often, a good seamless bra is essential. Again, stop stressing about your size! Get a bra that is going to be comfortable.

5. Your bra's best friend is your washing machine. Remember this-bras should be hand-washed. Most of us don't have the time, but in this case, do yourself and your bra a favor a get a lingerie bag! Bras that are machine-washed/dried need to be replaced much more often than ones that are gently hand-washed.

6. Underwire poking at your skin. The underwire in a bra should lay flat against your skin, underneath the breasts. If you feel the underwire poking through the fabric, you need a new bra! Find yourself adjusting the underwire back to its proper position throughout the day? It's time for a new bra.

7. Holes in your bra. If your bra is in any way torn, this is a sign it needs to be replaced. Think of it this way, a bra with holes in it can tear completely at any moment. What will you do then?

8. Your bra is not the same shape and does not have the same support as a new bra that is the same size. This is especially true for sports bras. If you hold up your existing bra to a new one of the same size and it does not look the same, you've worn it out! Champion or Adidas are good brands for sports bras.

9. You have gained or lost weight. Your breasts are made up of, mostly, fatty tissue, so when you gain or lose weight, it may make a significant change in their size-assuring you a new bra. Whenever you gain or lose 10 pounds, you should get fitted for a bra to ensure you are buying the right size for your body.

10. Ready for a New Look? You don't have to wait until your old bras are ripped and torn to get a new one! Have fun with it! If you usually wear plain cotton bras, try printed, sexy, lace bras for a quick pick-me-up. You may discover a whole new bra-world for yourself!

Bra shopping shouldn't be frustrating. If you happen to find a bra that fits you "like a glove" you may want to but a few in case they're discontinued! Have fun with your bra shopping, but remember, a good bra should be comfortable and should support you-it should not be a nuisance. Happy shopping!

Does Your Bra Fit? Find The Right Size For Your Body

Unless you know your proper bra size, you could be wearing the wrong undergarment. This can be more than just a mild discomfort: bras that are too tight or loose can lead to serious injuries to your neck and back. They can also cause numbness in your hands and fingers. Trying to work with the wrong bra will only leave you in physical pain. When you find a bra that fits correctly, you’ll feel – and look – better.

All the letters and numbers on bras might seem confusing. What’s the difference between A and AA? Are DD and E the same bra, but with different letters? The process is actually easy once you understand what the numbers mean. Fortunately, there’s a fast and simple way to decipher the “code” of the bra industry. Grab a cloth measuring tape – usually the type that a seamstress or tailor will use – and start measuring.

Step One:

Wrap the tape around the area just beneath your breasts. You should pull the tape so that it is snug, but not too tight. Now, subtract five from your measurement. This number is your band size; remember that for later.
Step Two:

Move the tape upward so that it covers the fullest part of your bust. Make sure that the tape is a little loose around your body. Check out your measurement. If you get an odd number, round up. Now, subtract from your band size number.

Step Three:

Now you have your cup size. Your number corresponds to the bra industry’s sizes like this:

AA = less than one inch
A = one inch
B = two inches
C = three inches
D = four inches
E (or DD) = five inches
F (or DDD) = six inches

Plus Size Modeling: An Introduction

Plus size modeling is a growing industry that is gaining popularity and acceptance throughout the world. Because plus size models and modeling has gained popularity in the last ten years, the opportunities have broadened considerable, but all modeling shoots for a plus size model are not the same. Plus size models will discover major differences between shoots, whether operating as a free agent or with representation and between different markets.

When you decide you want to try plus size modeling, you need to consider whether you want or can get representation right away, or if you want to act as a free agent. Finding representation can get you into many doors, but in some cases, if you are just starting out, you may want to be a free agent and market yourself to build your portfolio and get experience.

Finding representation can be challenging. You'll need some photos of yourself and you may need to try several agencies before you find the right one. Some agents want to see professional headshots, while others prefer a simple Polaroid. In many cases, they prefer to see your “raw material” and then they'll help you find and cultivate a desirable plus size model “look.” If you find representation, you should remember that the agent is working for you but you still need to take an active interest in your own modeling career. You should know what kinds of jobs they are promoting you for and why you are or are not getting jobs.

As a free agent you may have more flexibility, but you'll need to carefully protect yourself and make sure you're booking legitimate, paying jobs. Regardless of your status, you should constantly seek feedback, and do your best not to take it personally. Consider yourself a product that will be effective selling a product, or not. You may need to alter your look, gain weight, tone up or change your hair to be more marketable. Make sure you remember on thing; you won't be right for every job no matter what you do.

If you want to be a plus size model, you do need to consider that there are different kinds of plus size modeling and different markets for different sizes. Here is an interesting guide to some of the different markets and needs for plus size models.

Plus Size Lingerie Modeling: Really good plus size lingerie models are hard to find. Not only are companies and agencies looking for well proportioned and sexy women from sizes 10 to 18, they are also looking for toned, curvy bodies that will really make their photos pop! In many cases, a lingerie photo shoot will also be different than that of a catalog or fashion shoot. They may want sensual, sexy or even playful moods and you need to be comfortable with your body and your sexuality to project the right feelings.

Plus size catalog photo shoots for clothing are very different than plus size lingerie modeling. Most companies are looking for plus size models that are from sizes 10 to 18 with well proportioned bodies, pretty faces and positive, professional attitudes. Since plus size clothing is designed to flatter fuller figures, you may not have to worry about being as toned as for plus size lingerie. In many cases, these shoots are more about smiling, laughing, and being active. If you are modeling plus size swimwear or active-wear, you may need to have a more toned physique.

Plus size fashion shoots will always favor the prepared. Although you may or may not be showing a lot of skin, couture plus size fashion will fit better and look better if you are well toned and filling out the clothes in all the right places. Additionally, high fashion is frequently made of higher end silks and satins which are less forgiving than cottons and knits. With strong abs and smooth lines that show off your gorgeous curves, a fashion house or magazine will be far more likely to book you again.

Finally, different geographic markets call for different sized plus size models. For instance, the UK market favors sizes 12 and 14, American client's book specific sizes anywhere from 10 to 18 while the Italian market targets sizes 12 to 16. Markets like South America are just introducing plus models while the German market still favors sizes 8 to 12.

One unifying factor is certainly attitude. If you are a go getter who arrives at every shoot upbeat and prepared to work, you are more likely to be a successful plus size model. The plus size models that realty stand out are always well groomed and ready to slip into whatever role they are called on to perform. Whether portraying a confident business woman or a sexy siren the most successful plus size models glow with inner confidence. The best plus models know that they are sexy and beautiful because of their curves, not in spite of them.

The Origin of the Bra

Despite the fact, doubted by some, that the bra is not a necessity in keeping a woman's breasts firm and uplifted, bras originated in one form or another, centuries ago..

Minoan women athletes of 700 BC have been depicted wearing a bra like garment to restrain and cover their breasts and the women of other civilizations are known to have worn bras like undergarments for a variety of reasons.

From the Middle Ages, through to the earlier part of the twentieth century, women of wealth wore corsets that tended to push the breasts, and in Georgian times, in the 1700s to the mid 1800s, it was considered the height of fashion to expose uplifted breasts with prominent cleavage and to just cover the nipples.

Queen Victoria soon put paid to that and although the style of corsets still pushed up the breasts, they remained decorously covered.

Into the 1920s, the fashion was to restrain the breasts, flappers of the time considered that the flatter the chest the more sex appeal they had, and their men must have agreed - but when did they have a choice?

Although there was a movement towards designing bras as we know them today, around the latter years of the nineteenth century, the first patent for a brassiere was only given to a Mary Phelps Jacob in November 1914.

The word brassiere is derived somewhat indirectly from the French "bras" meaning arms with an earlier military association to mean arm protector that then was developed into a chest protector.
In English the first known reference to the word occurred around 1893 with manufacturers going on to use the term to describe derivations of the corset that provided support for female breasts.

The ultimate fashion magazine "Vogue" first mentioned the term brassiere on its pages in 1907, and by 1911 the Oxford English Dictionary awarded the word its final accolade of acceptance into the English language.

The advent of the First World War held up the development of the brassiere as a fashion garment just as a similar situation took place during and just after World War II. A possible explanation is that in both wars women of all classes had to take over so many of the menial tasks performed by men that sex appeal was not on their list of priorities.

The shortened term "bra" came into use in the early thirties as the undergarment became affordable and gained popularity with all classes.

After 1945 the bra became one of the top priorities in the world of fashion, allowing the top couturiers to design fashion wear from topless evening dresses to any number of other day and evening wear apparel emphasizing the silhouette.

Without this progress in bra design, the bikini would never have happened, women might still have had to suffer the restraints and discomforts of corsets to give their bodies a desirable shape.
Nature has and continues to take its course; women who want to retain their sex appeal do not have to suffer in the same way as their grandparents.

As for men, they have never had it so good, the media and peer pressures have opened their eyes to some of the fabulously beautiful and attractive women that abound in the world and they expect their sweethearts and wives to strive to look just as gorgeous.

How to Wear Sexy Lingerie to Keep the Romance Alive in Your Marriage

You know I don't have a special person in my life right now but if I was married we all know that I would love for my wife to have some sexy lingerie that she would want to be worn just for me. I'm not talking about just a typical nightie but something special that would turn my eyeballs inside and out. These are now the holiday seasons and during this time would want to focus your emphasis on lingerie towards a festive and joyful as well as sexy attitude. When the weather is freezing outside and you want to create an atmosphere that is burning hot you can think of an idea such as dressing up as Santa Claus with your special lady dressed up as Mrs. Clause yet wearing a very sexy Christmas night gown in white and red with some very sexy knee-high fur boots (talk about an overactive Christmas imagination!!), or you can opt to dress up like a snowflakes in in a strapless for many dressed in a red ribbon lace on the back. I don't know about you but I hate the cold, but if my lady were dressed up in this outfit I wouldn't mind throwing snowballs with her outside for driving her up when we get indoors. In any relationship keeping the romance going is a very important part, and nothing helps this more than wearing sexy lingerie outfit.

The only problem with a lot of sexy lingerie stores is that it can be quite expensive on the wallet, so with this in mind you must always plan ahead of time how much you'll spend on a sexy outfit especially in this current economic atmosphere. Now the problem with shopping for sexy lingerie at stores is that these lingerie stores usually have a high overhead and expenses to take on and they passed this overhead and expenses over on to you the consumer. Even though you can purchase your lingerie right on the spot this still will put a very big dent in your wallet. You can buy your lingerie outside or you can do what so many others have started to do during the recession and that is shop online for sexy lingerie. The advantage to shopping online for your sexy lingerie is that the online lingerie website doesn't really have to pay for any more expenses but a few workers and some storage space. Now all they need is a good-looking website and that is basically what you see when you are shopping online. When you are shopping online for sexy lingerie you have the advantage of doing comparison shopping without actually having to use gas up in your car to travel from store to store. It's all done by the click of a mouse. Now whether you are shopping for sexy high heels, sexy costumes, sexy nightgowns or any other kind of sexy lingerie you can do this all online with the click of a mouse and your handy credit card ready to make the order. It can't get easier than that can it?

Now I don't know about you but for me, what always gets my attention, is a lady dressed in high heels. Most people prefer 3 to 4 inch heels but for me what usually gets my attention are the extremes, and nothing says extreme to me more than a lady walking by and 6 to 7 inch high heels. These high heel shoes usually accentuate the calves of anyone and really give their legs that eye-popping, attention-getting look. I just hope when I get married my wife will know what she's doing as far as getting the right lingerie to keep the romance going in our marriage.

Why Men Love Women Who Wear Lingerie

Ask around and a majority of men will tell you that they love it when their wives or girlfriends wear sexy lingerie. Women who wear lingerie ‘feel’ more feminine and sexy. That can help them to ‘unleash’ passions they may have hidden from themselves, or been too afraid to show before.

Men are ‘visual’ and ‘physical’ beings when it comes to sex. Men will create powerfully-stimulating images in their minds looking at a woman in sexy lingerie. His desire for you and the anticipation of a sexual encounter with you builds as he ‘touches’ the sensuous material of the lingerie. Women tend to desire an ‘emotional-connection’ and with their partner, in conjunction with the physical stimulation of sexual activity. Women want to know that their mate finds them desirable and sexy. Wearing sexy lingerie gives both of them the ‘sensory’ stimulation needed for a better sexual experience, and the deepening of their relationship.

When a man sees the woman he loves wearing some very seductive lingerie, he can ‘visualize’ her apart from the other roles she plays in the workplace or as a wife and mother. He can feel confident that for this space-in-time, she is there just for him. She won’t be distracted by her everyday demands such as last minute assignments from the boss, fixing dinner, laundry, or “cranky” children. The sight of her in a beautiful, lacy bra and panties ‘heightens’ his anticipation of sharing this time with her.
To him, sexy lingerie is like ‘unwrapping’ a Christmas present. He anticipates that once he has completely removed the delicious ‘wrapping’ from his woman- it will lead to explosively-satisfying sex for both him and her. What woman doesn’t want to have her man ‘salivating’ and ‘groaning’ with desire for her? What woman wouldn’t feel “special’ to see the gleam in his eyes, and the raising of the flag so to speak as he traces a finger slowly over the lacing of your bra or along the edges of your barely-there thong? What woman would pass up experiencing his ‘tenderness’ as he slowly removes the hosiery from your legs-one sensuous leg at a time? Knowing that you have ‘seductive powers over your man ‘heightens’ your own sexual experience.

Why not let out the seductive-tigress within you tonight by wearing some sexy lingerie? Maybe you’ve never worn sexy lingerie before and are a little ‘hesitant’ about trying some out. Don’t be. Sexy lingerie comes in a variety of styles and fabrics. You can find lingerie styles that are downright daring- made with see-through and sexually-charged materials such as netting and vinyl. You can find equally sexy, yet less-daring lingerie in such sensuous materials as satin and lace. What’s important is to wear the sexy lingerie you feel most comfortable in. Your man will love whatever sexy lingerie you choose!
Perhaps you’re not so confident about your ‘powers of seduction’ over your man and would like to “test-the-waters” wearing just a sexy lace bra or a pair of satiny-smooth panties. Seeing for yourself the effect that wearing sexy lingerie, (even just one piece of sexy lingerie) has on your man and the sexual ‘pleasure’ you share together will increase your confidence in the seductive, sexy being you are. As your confidence “grows” you can add more sexy lingerie to your collection.

The internet is a great resource for finding the sexy lingerie to ‘drive” your man’s sexual desire for you wild! You can order sexy lingerie from the privacy and convenience of your own home. Many of these online retailers also offer huge discounts that offline stores can’t, and great rates on shipping too.

Lingerie Buying Advice For Guys

Buying lingerie for your lover can be one of the most romantic things you can do. It's an intimate gift which, if you get it right, shows you really care, really do understand her and have put the effort in to really think about a gift she will like.
It's also one of the most stressful and dangerous gifts you can buy if you are a guy so don't rush in to it!

Get it right and there are some major brownie points to be earned here. You may even get to unwrap your present later...

Get it wrong however, and you will almost certainly live to regret it...if you're lucky!

Before you even think about buying make sure you avoid the following pitfalls and take heed of the helpful lingerie buying advice for guys we provide here. A few minutes reading can save you hours of grief.

Common Lingerie Buying Mistakes
-------------------------------

Guys, the most important things to remember when buying lingerie as a present are these:

1) It's NOT for You!

Remember who you are buying lingerie for and tailor your future choice to this. If you buy something in a style she doesn't usually wear then the chances are, you've got it wrong. If you buy it in a colour or design she doesn't usually wear then again, you've probably got it wrong. Buy something YOU like and the chances are...yup, you guessed it, you've got it wrong!

The Golden Rule - You are buying lingerie for your lady...and NOT for yourself!

Yes, for sure those models look great in the skimpy, slutty lingerie and no doubt you'd love to see her in the same, but think of the message you are sending. Do you want your gift to say "You're special and I love you" or "Love? I just wanna ... you!".

Opt for the leather, PVC, crotchless, peephole lingerie or naughty nurse outfit and you'll no doubt end up sleeping with Rover that night. Go for something silky or lacey and you are more likely to be on the right lines.

2) Do Your Research

The second biggest mistake is going into a lingerie store blind. DO NOT try to guess her size, favourite style or for that matter, try to guess anything else. You'll fail miserably. Unfortunately, women don't work in S, M, L, XL sizes like us, they have to go and make it more complicated. When you walk into a lingerie store prepare to be hit by a dizzying array of numbers and letters associated with an even more confusing selection of wierd and wonderful products which to the untrained eye, all look the same but to her, are very different.

Think push-up, plunge, balcony, gel filled, water filled, padded, unpadded, underwired, seamless, backless, boneless, strapless, open cup...with different cup sizes from A to JJ and not forgetting the numbers, different materials and designs...and that's just the bras!

Basically guys, do your research first before you hit the high street or go shopping online and you've got a vastly better chance of getting it right. Wait until she goes out and then raid her underwear drawer. Try to find things with the label in and write down the numbers there. If they haven't sizes inside you can borrow a bra and panty set and take it to a store and ask one of the sales staff...they've seen it all before, don't worry. Make sure what you take is on the new side or you risk buying something in the size she once was rather than the size she is now...the very WORST thing you can do is buy something in the size she was before she went up a dress size or two!

Whilst you are rummaging around amongst her undies, make a note of the colours and styles she likes. Is there a particular colour she is particularly fond of? Does she like patterns or plain styles? Does she go for comfort or sex appeal? These are important things to note if you are going to buy something she will like rather than something which gets shoved to the bottom of the drawer.

3) Items To Avoid

Now you know her size, the colours and styles she likes there's a few pitfalls to avoid:

Avoid anything marked as "Control", "Reducing", etc. These are to suck in bellies and hide excess weight...unless you really want to send the message "suck it in fatty" you'd probably be best avoiding these!

Gel filled, water filled and cleavage enhancing bras...again, be careful what you might be perceived as hinting at with these.

Kinky stuff in general doesn't generally work as an "I love you" kind of gift. If you are daring enough to buy it at all, then save it for the times in between birthdays, Christmas and Valentines Day...

Anything else is probably safe.

Final Tips
-----------

Now you've got the majority of the pitfalls put to one side and hopefully avoided here are a few final tips:

1) Presentation

An important part of your gift is the presentation. Most shops will professionally gift wrap your purchase for you if you ask for a small charge and this is well worth paying a little extra for.

2) Shop Online

One of the glorious things about shopping for lingerie online is the wealth of information available to you which you simply will not find in a bricks and mortar lingerie retailer. Take a look at their gift ideas, top sellers list etc. for loads of ideas of what are popular choices.

3) Keep The Receipt!

If worse comes to the worse, she can always swap it for something else...

If you are still feeling brave enough to give this a try then good luck and may you reap the rewards your bravery deserves! After all, as the saying goes, faint heart never won fair maiden...
