Bra Cup Size Important for Comfort

If the bra you're wearing now is not a comfortable bra, the problem could be that you don't have the proper cup size. What is the correct cup size for you? That depends on a lot of variables.

In case you didn't know, cup sizes vary depending on the band size. For instance, the cup size of a 34DDD is smaller than the cup size for a 40DDD. They're both DDD cups, yet the 40 is bigger than the 34.

I've been doing bra fittings since 1971, and I've found that most of the women who come to me to find out the correct way to measure for a bra are wearing a bra that's 3 or 4 BAND sizes off, AND 3 or 4 CUP sizes off. In short, they're way, way, way, way, WAY off. Even if a woman has properly gauged her cup size, because her band size is off so much, the result is a cup size that looks right on paper, but on the woman it ends up being too small or too big. The result is a bra that makes your clothes fit poorly, a bra that makes your body feel poorly, and a bra that makes you look fatter than you really are.

What about an under wire bra? Many women hate bras with an under wire in the cups because the under wire jabs them right in the boobs, the most tender part of our bodies. If you're one of these women, I can guarantee you that the only reason you hate an under wire bra is because you've never worn an under wire bra that was the right size bra for you. Remember, it's called an under wire bra, it's not called a jab your boob bra. An under wire is supposed to be an improvement.
If you have the right bra cup size, the under wire will maintain the cup's shape over a long period of time, but the wire itself won't poke you because it's going around your boob, not into it. That's what an under wire is designed to do, fit around your boobs, maintain the cup's shape, and give added support for your boobs. Saying you hate an under wire bra because it's jabbing your boobs is like saying you hate ketchup because it ruins your coffee. If you use the product the way it was designed to be used, you'll get good results.

When you're looking for the right bra cup size for you, keep these things in mind, and don't be afraid to ask for a different size than the store clerk might recommend. And remember that many, many women are wearing a bra that is 3 or 4 sizes off, both in band size and in cup size. You may be, too.

How to Find Your Bra Size - a Teen Guide!

•••Take your measurements using a soft flexible measuring tape••• 1. Frame Size Your frame size is the diameter around your chest, below your breasts. Measure around your ribcage directly under your breasts.

2. Breast Size

Now measure around your chest, over and including the fullest part of your breast. For larger breast, get this measurement while wearing a bra.

How the Measurement Works

1. Frame

The diameter around your chest below your breasts.
2. Bra Size

Add 5 to your Frame size. If the number you get is odd, round up to the next even number.

For example, if your frame size is 20 inches, when you add 5 to this you get 25 inches. You should therefore round up to the even number, which is 26 inches (bras only come in even numbers).

3. Breast Size

The diameter around your chest, over and including the fullest part of your breast.

4. Cup Size

The deference between your frame size and bra size, is used to find your cup size.

Cup Size

0 to 1/2 inch AA

1/2 to 1 inch A

1 to 2 1/2 inches B

2 1/2 to 3 1/2 inches C

3 1/2 to 4 1/2 inches D

4 1/2 to 6 inches DD (E)

6 to 7 inches DDD(F)

7 to 8 inches G

When the right bra size still isn't right !

If your bra still doesn't feel right, the best thing to is to try on different brands, and vary the size a bit. Make sure the bra strap doesn't cut into your shoulders, and make sure your breasts don't hang out of the bottom, or sides of the bra. The best rule is, if it just doesn't feel right, try another bra.

Bra sizes can vary a lot depending on the type of bra, and even the brand. The best thing to do is go into the changing room, and try on a number of different bras.

Once you find a bra you like, jump around a little to see if the bra gives you the proper support, lean forward in the mirror to see if the cups keep your breasts where you want them to be. A new bra should fasten at the middle or last hook, because the material will stretch with wear.

The best thing to remember is comfort; a bra that scratchy or tight will drive you crazy by the end of the school day.

Bra Size - Don't Guess at It, Get Yourself Measured and Know Your Bra Size!

You can get hold of a bra that fits your bust size perfectly only after you find out your bust measurements correctly. Wrong bra sizes, whether they are tight or loose, have serious outcomes which may even mean back and neck injuries. Moreover, as another side effect, you may experience finger and hand numbness by wearing wrong sized bras. It's not just about discomfort when you choose the wrong bra size; it's about looking awkward as it makes your body look strange. Wearing a properly fitted bra can only mean two things- better looks and more comfort.

Most women are confused about the letters and size numbers they see printed on bra labels. Most of them don't even know how to distinguish between an A size and AA size. Distinguishing between E and DD is no piece of cake for them either. Once you pay a little attention you will realize how easy it is to read all those size charts. Take a measuring tape and measure your own size in order to find out what will actually fit you.

Step 1:

Measure your body from right where your breast ends and your waist begins. The tape should be snug but make sure it's not too tight to distort measurements. What ever readings you have simply subtract 5 from them. This way you get a band size which we will discuss later on.

Step 2:

Now measure your bust where it is fullest. At this point the tape should be comfortably lined with your body's round and not be too tight. If the reading you get is odd, then round it. Now take your band size and subtract this new measurement from it.

Step 3:

This will give you the size of your cups. You can read your measurement against the company sizes in this way:

AA= 1" and lesser
A= 1"
B= 2"
C= 3"
D= 4"
E /DD= 5"
F/DDD=6"

If you are searching for the perfect bra then taking measurements are just a part of the process. When buying yourself a bra, the center of the bra should touch your body and not stay raised. Also ensure that your straps are not the only things that hold your bust in position. It can exert pressure on your back and the bra will lose its shape quickly.

Once you grab hold of your measurements, it is time to pamper yourself with a sensuous and sexy bra. So get out there and quench your cravings with confidence and know what you deserve.

Bra Sizes and Styles - How to Know the Right Bra For You

Women, most of the times are rarely aware of changes in their bra size and end up wearing wrong sizes. Body changes due to certain factors such as water retention or aging can very quickly change bra sizes significantly while being unnoticed at the same moment for the individual wearing a bra. The following content will give you some basic guidance on measuring your bra size so that you can find the right fit for yourself.

Sales personnel can help you measure your size properly but incase you are shopping through a magazine then you need to measure your size on your own.

Are you wearing the right bra size?

If your band is tight or your back straps slip up then it means your cups are small. If your band is tighter than being comfortable then your current band size is larger than the bra band that you are wearing.
Your cups should not have empty space in them. If they do then you need a smaller cup size. If you feel that your current cups are too tight then you need a different bra.

If your bras underwire presses in too deeply then you need to get larger cups. This may also happen when the bra's side wings are smaller than what they should be.
Measuring correctly

The main measurements that you will need are full bust, upper bust and under bust.

Under bust: take measurements from beneath your bust. Hold your measuring tape in position beneath the bust and make sure it isn't too tight.

Upper bust: place the measuring tape under your arms but over your bust.

Full bust: measure from where you feel your breast is fullest.

Now subtract both measurements from each other and see what the figure you get is. If you get a figure more than 2" then your band size is calculated by adding 2 or 3 inches to this measurement and getting an even figure. If the difference turns out to be lesser than 2" then it is your band size.

Subtracting the figure you get out of measuring your full bust from that of the upper bust is what determines your cup size. Here are the sizes you should use as your readings:

AA<1">
A=1"
B=2"
C=3"
D=4"
DD=5"

Styles of bras

Bras come in a variety of shapes and designs. So make sure you wear them to see if they fit your body shape and type. Not every convertible bra is meant for everyone. Choose what goes with your shape.
Full coverage bras cover the breast completely and give added support.

Demi cup bras only give 75 % coverage to the bust. These kinds of bras enhance cleavage appearance but you need to see that they don't cut your bust from the center and make them appear bulging out of a wrong size. If so, then buy larger cups.

Underwire bras give extra support and roundness.

Halter Top bras: these have a strap that goes around the neck unlike regular bras that have shoulder straps. These can be worn to enhance cleavage and with halter tops.

Backless bras: these bras are meant for dresses with low backs and they, at times, only cover the front or have extremely low back straps.

Strapless: These bras just come with a band and no straps. They stay in position by extending a little lower than a regular bra and this gives extra support.

Padded bras: these enhance cleavage and make the breasts appear larger than what they are. The pads can be made of gel, foam or bra fabric and at times the pads can be removed. Gel padding are gaining a lot of popularity as they appear more close to natural shape.

Décolleté For deeper neck lines these bras are perfect as they have smaller cuts than demi bras and don't show from inside of a deep cut neckline.

Light support: these are without an underwire and can be worn all day. For a breast size that's larger than cup A shouldn't use this style of bras. A bra that fits properly will be comfortable with or without underwire.

Sports bra: these control breast bounce during a sport session and activity. Though some inexpensive bras do this by squeezing the breast tightly into place but comfortable sports bras are those that do this according to cup sizes. They fit the body and hold the breast snugly into position rather than squeezing them.

Nursing bras: nursing mothers need added support for their breasts and so these bras provide complete coverage. They have a snap at the shoulder which makes it easier for the mother to take it off when she has to nurse.

Once you know your size you can buy a sexy bra confidently. Next time you go out for an occasion you will know you look just as good from the inside.

Plus Size Bra - Choosing The Right Plus Size Bra

Oprah Winfrey brought this issue into limelight where most women are not wearing the bra that is not right or accurate according to the size of their breasts. We are not talking about just a small portion of women here, we are talking about 60%, yes, 60% of the modern women population are wearing the wrong bra size. Not only the size is wrong, most women also failed in terms of choosing the right style of bra to match with the outfit that they are wearing.

Some offers a wide range of plus size lingerie which includes different styles, colors and designs to suit different needs of full figure women. Also, there are some lingerie manufacturers or designers which specializes in launching and selling plus size lingerie only. For example, just a few days ago, I came across this wonderful range of balconette style plus size bra which have the function of slimming your tummy and push your breasts up and forward, which will make a full figure woman just as sexy as others.

The Facts About Your Bra

Fluctuating bra cups actually translate into more options for consumers, because suppose you try on a 36B and the band does not fit, then a 38A or a 34C will give you approximately the same cup size, but with different bandwidths. Women need to play around until they find the perfect bra size. Cup sizes tend to change from brand to brand. Size charts will also change depending on where the brand was originally created, such as the United Kingdom, Europe, or the United States. For instance an F cup in United Kingdom sizing might be a G cup in the United States. The one fact that women are aware of is that bras do not last forever. If you have that one bra that you would enjoy wearing every day and if you were to hand washed it each day, then if you are lucky it might last six months. It might last longer, but the bra will lose its elasticity and support.

Women should have a least eight bras. One bra for each day of the week and one extra. If a woman will rotate between the bras, this will give them a much longer lifespan. Washing them by hand will also coaxes the maximum lifespan out of your lingerie. Every woman should have at lease one white, one flesh tone, and one black bra in their drawers.

Bras with seams will support you much better. Structure and support comes from the way bras are stitched together, which means that if you take away the seams, then you will lose a little reinforcement. Women who have larger breasts should consider the seams of a bra when they are looking for the best possible support. However, there are more and more companies that are manufacturing better seamless bras for bigger sized women.

Panties can be tough to fit, too, but not impossible. Customers are looking for two things such as shape wear items that will smooth out silhouettes and undies that will eradicate pantie lines. In general, panties are up to the discretion of the consumer. If you are uncomfortable in a thong, then try microfiber or a french cut, which has higher leg openings, to cut back on lines. You may also want to consider low rise waistlines if your wardrobe consists of low rise pants. As far as shape wear goes, it can be worn just about all the time, even under work clothes or casual outfits.

Does everyone not need a little sexy lingerie in their closet? Sexy lingerie just has a way of making you feel beautiful and will pamper you whenever you wear it. You also have the wonderful reaction of your partner to consider when you are building your sexy lingerie wardrobe. You should choose items that fit you well and that will make you feel special when you wear them. There are a great many places that you can find these articles of clothing, but none as elaborate as the ones that you will find when they fit you perfectly.

Before You Buy Your Bustier Find Your Correct Bra Size

The right bustier can help a woman feel both sexy and beautiful, but the wrong size can make a woman feel like they are either squeezed in, or completely drowning in fabric. The culprit in either of these situations is incorrect bra size. It has been estimated that 80 percent of women are wearing a bra that is either too big or too small, or does not offer enough support, even if it is the correct size. Before you buy your next bustier read on to find out more about choosing the right bra size.

Perfectly fitting bras and lingerie molds and shapes the body, as well as providing support and figure enhancement. Improperly fitting lingerie does the exact opposite.

Common sense says, if you have a bra that fits properly, that bra is an accurate representation of your bra size, but it is important to keep in mind that sizing varies between manufacturers. It is usually obvious that when you find a bra or a bustier that does not fit properly, but there are other signs that a bra or bustier just is not the right fit as well. Take a look at the cups, and if you find that you do not quite fill them, you need a smaller size. On the other hand, if the edges of the cups do not lie flat against the sides of your breasts, you could probably stand to go up a size.

If the center panel of the bra does not lie flat, this is also a sign that either the cup size is too small, or that that e panel may not be large enough to cover the separation between your breasts. If you have a minimizer, however, do not worry if it seems to fit but does not seem to meet the above criteria, since minimizers usually do not rest against the breastbone.

Pay attention to the straps of your bra and or bustier as well. If the straps are always falling, consider a different strap style. If the straps dig into your shoulders, it might be time to go down a band size.
Keep in mind that when you decide to go up a cup size, the band size stays the same, but when you go up a band size, your cup size will increase as well. Buying the perfect bra can greatly enhance and improve your appearance, and ensure that you look just right in that sexy, new bustier as well.

Your Ever Changing Bra Size

Breasts are a pain in the derriere! Well, at least metaphysically. The problem? We always are dealing with sizing and fitting issues in an effort to come up with a bra that fits us comfortably.

Sometimes, it seems like finding a bra that fits perfectly is impossible. Various studies have shown that a majority of women are walking around in brassieres that simply do not fit. How can this be? Are we idiots? No, we just are confronted with an incredibly complex problem. Not only does our bra size change through the years, it changes throughout the month!

You go bra shopping on the 10th of the month. You know the ins and outs of bra sizing. You are fully aware that bottom band of the bra should provide 80 percent of the lifting capacity while the straps only provide 20 percent. You know how to size your cup so that you have plenty of support without excessive squeezing. You try on many different bras and come up with the perfect one. Out comes the credit card and you are the proud owner of five of these perfect bras.

Now we fast forward another two weeks. It is the 25th. You are getting ready for a night out and pull out one of the new bras for the first time. Hey, it's hard to get rid of those older, comfortable bras! When you put on the new bra, it seems tight. Have you twisted the band? No. What is going on?!

The problem is your breasts have increased in size. This is a natural process that occurs as you approach your period. The issue is estrogen and progesterone increase in the body. The glands in your breasts will increase in size and water retention will increase. The end result are breasts that are bigger and a brand new [and expensive] bra that doesn't fit despite your best shopping efforts. How unfair is that?

So, is there anything you can do to fight this problem? The obvious strategy used by millions of women is to buy a set of larger bras for this period of natural enlargement. Since your breasts are continually changing sizes, you can't get a perfect fit. I generally try to buy for the biggest size. Yes, it is a bit big at times, but I don't really mind since sensitivity is an issue and I prefer more room to being squeezed. You might feel differently, so just try different options till you find one that works.

Buying bras can be a never ending process sometimes. This is particularly true given the sizing changes we go through every month. Ultimately, there isn't a lot we can do about it other than to build up a small arsenal of bras for each and every situation. Such is life.

Bra Sizing - A Guide on How to Get the Right Measurements

Do you feel uncomfortable when you wear your bra? Do you feel the wires poking into your breasts or the back band riding up? Are the shoulder straps painfully digging into your skin? Do your breasts look like they'd want to pop out of the cups?

If so, then you might be wearing a bra with the wrong fit.

And you're probably not the only one, because a lot of women today are wearing bras of the wrong size. If you feel pains in the neck, shoulder or back area, experience headaches or see red marks on your breasts when you remove your bra, then chances are you are wearing the wrong sized bra. By wearing an ill-fitting bra, you are compromising the comfort and support your breasts need.

So how do you find a bra that's true to your size? Here's a quick and basic step-by-step guide on how to measure your bra size. Before looking into the style you like, take your measurements first - this way you will end up buying a style that not only looks good, but also feels good on you.

Step 1: Measure your band size. You'll need a tape measure, a pen and paper for this. Make sure you're wearing a supportive - but not too tight - bra. To measure your band size, give your tape measure a snug swing around your ribcage, just right under your breasts. If the measurement is an even number, add 4 inches to the result. If it's an odd number, add 5 inches. That's your band size.

Step 2: Measure your cup size. Again, take your tape measure and swing around the fullest part of your breasts, at the nipple area. Make sure to round off the half inches or odd digits to the nearest even digit. Then subtract the result from your band size.
If the difference is: Z

0 inch, your cup size is AA

1 inch, your cup size is A

2 inches, your cup size is B

3 inches, your cup size is C

4 inches, your cup size is D

So, for example, the size around your ribcage is 29 add 5 inches to get the band size, which is 34. Then, if your cup size is 32, subtract it from your band size. With a difference of 2 inches, you are a cup B. So your bra size is 34B.

For cup sizes above D, there is usually a slight variation in the results. Manufacturers may label the larger cup sizes differently - like a size DD as E, the FF as G, and so on. So it's best to check your favorite lingerie brand for their cup sizing.

The guide above is just an approximation. Factors like breast shape, body size, fat distribution and height can also affect your bra size. Different manufacturers and varying styles may also give different bra sizing. So it's important to try on the bras before buying. Just remember that, more than how it looks, your bra should offer a great fit and ample breast support so you feel comfortable wearing them everyday under your clothes.

Proper Bra Sizing: What Every Woman Should Know

Most women do not wear the correct bra size. With monthly water retention cycles, dieting, and general aging, it also should not be assumed that the size you were two years ago is the same size you are today (or that a bra can be worn that long, for that matter). Even a change of 5 pounds can change your bra size. This guide will help you to properly measure your bust, so that you can find the size for you.

While most shops will have a salesperson to assist you in proper measurements, in order to buy sexy lingerie from a catalog, it is important to know your size.

How To Know If Your Current Bra Does Not Fit

The back rides up. This may mean that the cups are too small, or the band is too tight. The front of the band is too tight to get a finger under it. This means you need a larger band.

The bra cups should be entirely filled, or you may need a smaller cup. If, on the other hand, the cups are overflowing, you may need a larger cup or a different style of bra.

If the underwire digs in, you may need a larger cup size. (Or your bra could just be very old. In either case, it's time to replace it.) This could also be an indication that the side wings of the bra are not large enough.
Proper Measurements

First, you will need three measurements: under bust, upper bust, and full bust.

For under the bust, measure directly under your bust. With all measurements, hold the tape secure but not too tight. For the upper bust, measure above the bust and below the arms.

If the difference between the under and upper bust is less than two inches, the under bust is your band size (round up to nearest even number). If the difference is more than two inches, add 2-3" to the under bust measurement to get an even number and use this as your band size. For the full bust, measure around a fullest part of your breast. Make sure the tape is secure around the back.

Your cup size is determined by your full bust measurement - your upper bust measurement. If the difference is less than 1", you are a AA, 1" is an A, 2" is a B, 3" is a C, 4" is a D, 5" is a DD (or an E), etc.

Beyond Measurements

Of course, your measurements are just the beginning. There are other things to keep in mind when looking for a comfortable, yet sexy bra.

When trying on different bras, make sure that the area in between the two cups actually comes into contact with your chest. Do not make the straps support your breast alone! This will be very uncomfortable over long periods of time, the bra will wear out quickly, and the pressure on the straps can cause back problems.

If you are finding the band sizes to differ for a different brand, you may also need to change your cup size. Generally, as you decrease the band size, you will need to increase your cup size, while a larger band will call for a smaller cup.

Bra Styles

Different styles of bras have different fits. Beware the convertible bras: while they may sometimes work, it is rare that every possible style will work for your body.

Full Cup / Full Coverage - Designed for support, these bras cover the entire breast.

Half Cup / Demi Cup - These bras cover 75 percent of the breast. This is a sexy cut that increases cleavage, but make sure your breasts are not "cut-off" in the center. Your profile should still be smooth, and if it isn't, you need a larger cup size.

Underwire Bras - These bras give the most support.

Racerback Bras - These bras have a crossover pattern in the back. They can have a front or back clasp, or can simply pull over the head. This is a common style for a sports bra.

Halter-Top Bras - As the name imply, these bras have a strap that loops around the neck, rather than the usual shoulder straps. These bras can increase cleavage, and can be worn with both halter tops and tops with low center coverage.

Backless Bras - While some backless bras literally have only front coverage, generally this refers to bras with extremely low backs, so that many dresses with low backs can be worn without the bra showing.

Strapless Bras - These bras have no straps at all, only the band. Some of these can cover the stomach area as well, and some even cover the body like a leotard. These longer strapless bras tend to stay in place better.

Padded Bras / Push-Up Bras - These bras have extra padding in the cups in order to give the illusion of a larger breast and/or to increase the cleavage. The padding can be made of the same material as the bra, foam, or gel. Gel is becoming more popular because of its more natural look. In some bras, the padding is removable.

Décolleté - These bras are lower cut than a demi bra, allowing you to wear something even lower cut without revealing your bra.

Light-Support Bras - These bras have no underwire. While you may be tempted to wear one to an all-day event, if you are larger than an A cup, you may not be getting the support you need. A properly fitted bra will be comfortable whether or not it has underwire.

Sports Bra - These bras are designed to minimize bouncing during athletic activity. While some inexpensive varieties do this by squishing your breasts, it is better to find on that is sized by cup sizes (as opposed to small, medium, and large) and get fitted as you would with a regular bra. Over the long term, this will increase your comfort.

Nursing Bras - For the convenience of nursing mothers, these bras have a snap on each of the shoulder straps, so she can easily remove them to feed the baby without taking off the entire bra. Generally, nursing bras are full-coverage for the added support a new mother needs.

10 Signs You Need a New Bra!

If you're like most women, you dread the day you have to go bra shopping. Women have mental lists of reasons why to not shop for bras: they're expensive, they don't like to shop for themselves, and they don't have the time or the patience to try on every bra in the store, or just can't find the right fit! Frustrating? There's no avoiding it-sometimes you need to buy a new bra-and that doesn't mean when the wires are poking you through the fabric! Knowing when to get a new bra is essential to helping you keep bras that are comfortable and shapely. Here are a few reasons you may be in need of a new bra-now.

1. If Last Summer was the last time you bought a bra. Bra shopping can be expensive. It can be easy to spend $50, $75, or even $100 on a bra, but there are plenty of bras for under $30 as well! Think of it this way, if you can spend that money on a mani/pedi or a couple of movie tickets, you can definitely spend it on a bra!

2. A Special Occasion. Do you have a wedding coming up? A 'formal' dance maybe? There are certain occasions you may need to wear a strapless or 'convertible' bra-essential to every woman's wardrobe!

3. Great News! You're Pregnant! You may not need a maternity bra just yet, but expect to grow a couple of sizes during your pregnancy. Even women with small breasts will eventually need a bra with underwire for support during pregnancy. Taking care of your breasts during pregnancy and nursing, with good bras, can minimize post-baby sagging. Look to brands such as Bali, Playtex, and Calvin Klein for comfortable pregnancy/nursing bras.

4. Your bra just doesn't fit right. If your bra is stretched, the back strap rides up, you're constantly adjusting, or you're embarrassed to wear a tight-fitting shirt-you need a different bra. Be honest with yourself first-Do you wish you were a C cup, but are really a B cup? Or what if a DD is just too small for you? Your bra should support and shape you, without restricting you. Your bra should not be loose in any way when you stand up straight. Don't be ashamed to check out full-figured or plus-sized bras for the right fight. If you wear t-shirts often, a good seamless bra is essential. Again, stop stressing about your size! Get a bra that is going to be comfortable.

5. Your bra's best friend is your washing machine. Remember this-bras should be hand-washed. Most of us don't have the time, but in this case, do yourself and your bra a favor a get a lingerie bag! Bras that are machine-washed/dried need to be replaced much more often than ones that are gently hand-washed.

6. Underwire poking at your skin. The underwire in a bra should lay flat against your skin, underneath the breasts. If you feel the underwire poking through the fabric, you need a new bra! Find yourself adjusting the underwire back to its proper position throughout the day? It's time for a new bra.

7. Holes in your bra. If your bra is in any way torn, this is a sign it needs to be replaced. Think of it this way, a bra with holes in it can tear completely at any moment. What will you do then?

8. Your bra is not the same shape and does not have the same support as a new bra that is the same size. This is especially true for sports bras. If you hold up your existing bra to a new one of the same size and it does not look the same, you've worn it out! Champion or Adidas are good brands for sports bras.

9. You have gained or lost weight. Your breasts are made up of, mostly, fatty tissue, so when you gain or lose weight, it may make a significant change in their size-assuring you a new bra. Whenever you gain or lose 10 pounds, you should get fitted for a bra to ensure you are buying the right size for your body.

10. Ready for a New Look? You don't have to wait until your old bras are ripped and torn to get a new one! Have fun with it! If you usually wear plain cotton bras, try printed, sexy, lace bras for a quick pick-me-up. You may discover a whole new bra-world for yourself!

Bra shopping shouldn't be frustrating. If you happen to find a bra that fits you "like a glove" you may want to but a few in case they're discontinued! Have fun with your bra shopping, but remember, a good bra should be comfortable and should support you-it should not be a nuisance. Happy shopping!

Does Your Bra Fit? Find The Right Size For Your Body

Unless you know your proper bra size, you could be wearing the wrong undergarment. This can be more than just a mild discomfort: bras that are too tight or loose can lead to serious injuries to your neck and back. They can also cause numbness in your hands and fingers. Trying to work with the wrong bra will only leave you in physical pain. When you find a bra that fits correctly, you’ll feel – and look – better.

All the letters and numbers on bras might seem confusing. What’s the difference between A and AA? Are DD and E the same bra, but with different letters? The process is actually easy once you understand what the numbers mean. Fortunately, there’s a fast and simple way to decipher the “code” of the bra industry. Grab a cloth measuring tape – usually the type that a seamstress or tailor will use – and start measuring.

Step One:

Wrap the tape around the area just beneath your breasts. You should pull the tape so that it is snug, but not too tight. Now, subtract five from your measurement. This number is your band size; remember that for later.
Step Two:

Move the tape upward so that it covers the fullest part of your bust. Make sure that the tape is a little loose around your body. Check out your measurement. If you get an odd number, round up. Now, subtract from your band size number.

Step Three:

Now you have your cup size. Your number corresponds to the bra industry’s sizes like this:

AA = less than one inch
A = one inch
B = two inches
C = three inches
D = four inches
E (or DD) = five inches
F (or DDD) = six inches

Now that you’re confident that you have the right bra size, head to your favorite lingerie store and start browsing. You’ve eliminated one of the biggest problems that women face when purchasing these undergarments, so go shop with confidence.

A Plus Size Bra Will Make Your Naturally Curvy Body Look Even More Tempting

As a woman, I have faced the difficulty of finding the right bra many a time. But what makes it even more tedious is the fact that I have a naturally curvaceous figure.

Nursing bras are very comfortable if you are a breast feeding mother. You have to feed your baby periodically and the process is very cumbersome when you have to do it wearing regular bras. These bras have provisions to feed the child easily and comfortably. Look for plus size nursing bras that have a braiding support instead of wiring, which will give you a lot more comfort if you need to sleep in it. Most nursing bras are either made out of cotton / lycra for gentle support, but you can also get these plus size bras in very sexy designs too. You can buy a Nursing bra for just around £22.99.

How to Measure Your Bra Size and Buy a Bra that Fits

The importance of a well-fitting bra cannot be underestimated, for reasons of appearance, comfort, and safety. This is especially important if you are in possession of a large pair of breasts. The size of your breasts is likely to change following pregnancy, weight gain or loss, and sometimes they change for no adequately explored reason. It is advisable to measure yourself, or even just experiment with different sizes, every two years, preferably a week before your period. Many department stores and lingerie shops offer a measuring service, which is often the best option, yet not everyone will want to do this and you need to make sure you find a reputable service which will recommend the correct size, even if they do not stock that size themselves. A Which? report on the matter suggests that some services are inadequate. Here is a short guide to measuring yourself (or a friend) and knowing what a well-fitting bra should look and feel like, in order to be able to buy bras with confidence.

Measuring

Many guides say that measurement should be done with your bra on, but if you are currently wearing a bra that is too small then a measurement taken with it on will be inaccurate, since your breasts will be constricted. If your breasts are not too large then measurement is best undertaken bra-less. If they require some support then choose the bra with the least restrictive cups.

Using a soft tape-measure1, firstly measure around your chest under your bust, at the level where the lowest part of your bra should sit. Try not to let the tape slip down at the back; it needs to be level all the way along. Take this measurement (in inches): if it is even, add four, if it is odd, add five. The resulting number is your band size.

Next, measure around the fullest part of your breasts; don't squish them unless you want your bra to squish them too2. This measurement in inches is your bust size.

To obtain your cup size, subtract your band size from your bust size. If the two are the same, you are an A cup. If your bust size is one inch larger than your band size, you are a B cup, two inches larger and you are a C cup. This continues through the alphabet, though not in a strictly linear fashion, due to the presence of cup sizes such as DD.

Bras are bought by band size and cup size, for example 34B, 36C. Easy!

Example

Just to make it even easier, here's a worked example. You measure around your back and find a measurement of 30 inches. This is an even number so you add four inches to find a band size of 34. You measure around your bust and find a measurement of 36 inches. Your bust size is two inches larger than your band size, so you are a C cup. When you next shop for a bra you look for one labelled '34C'. It fits wonderfully. You are happy.

Units

Bra sizes in the UK are based around the unit of inches. An inch is 2.54cm. Astoundingly, the sizing works the same in the US; here is a link to a bra size conversion chart for everyone else.

Does it Fit?

While this method will give a theoretical bra size, the actual physical size of a real-life bra may vary between manufacturers just as in other clothing. Unless the bra of your measured size feels perfect it is always best to try on a few of similar sizes. Breasts that are significantly larger than average can require special attention and equipment, and the measurements used to produce larger bras tend to deviate from the mathematical method given above.

Band

Most bras can be fastened to more than one level of tightness. Ideally a new bra should fit well around the band on its loosest setting. After a number of washes the band may lose some of its elasticity; at this point the bra can simply be fastened on a tighter setting.

If the back of the bra rides up, it is too big. Use a tighter set of hooks (assuming that the bra fastens with hooks) or buy a smaller band size. If the bra leaves red marks, it is probably too small.

Cups

If your breasts bulge out at the top, bottom or sides of the cups then the cup size is too small. If the material on the cups is wrinkly, the cup size is too big.

If the centre of the bra does not lie flat against your chest then it is being pushed out by breasts contained within cups that are too small. In the case of very large breasts this may be impossible to prevent, but try anyway.

I always suggest that people bend over (like to touch their shoes) and then stand up, and check to see how well the centre of the bra tacks after that - it will often change after some movement, and you want a bra that continues to fit when you're moving. If the centre of the bra pokes out enough to be visible under clothing, it is definitely a bad fit, no matter how large the breasts.

Straps

In theory, a well-fitting bra should support your breasts with the straps slipped down off your shoulders; this is a way of testing the fit. This is because for the majority of us the supporting should be done by the cups and band, not the straps. If the straps slip down on their own, however, they are too loose.

The straps are there to assist the rest of the bra, they should not take the weight of the breasts themselves and so there should be no red marks on your shoulders when properly adjusted. Larger breasts need more support and so wider straps may be needed in order to stop them digging in.

A Note for Bust-guessers

As demonstrated above, cup sizes are not absolute but are measured in relation to the band size of the person in question. Therefore a B cup with a band size of 38 will be ultimately larger than a B cup with a band size of 32. However, the smaller frame of the latter may make it appear that the breasts protrude away from the body more. The moral? Don't judge a woman by her cup size, and don't buy a bra for someone else unless you know the correct size3.

1 Not the one your dad/husband uses for making shelves.
2 Which you don't. That's the whole point of the article. If you want a minimiser bra or a push-up bra (both of which achieve their aims in part by squishing) then measure yourself properly and then buy a bra that says 'minimiser' on it.
3 And keep the receipt, just in case.

Plus Size Bras Give You All The Support You Need And A Flattering Shape!

You have to choose a bra that fits correctly. It should provide your bust a flattering shape and the bras you wear should also give you good support.

There are many designs, shapes and styles of bras available. You can choose the specific type and shape according to the occasion and requirement.

Full Figured Women Need Extra Support!

Women with larger breasts are susceptible to back problems. The bras which they wear do not offer the requisite amount of support, resulting in back pain. Plus Sized bras can help to get rid of such problems.
A major characteristic of a bra that you are going to use on a daily basis is that they should be sensible for everyday wear. Plus Sized bras are incredibly comfortable for the well endowed women amongst us.

Plus Size Minimizer Can Give You A Great Shape!

This plus size minimizer bra gives you good shape and also lessens the bust projection on the whole by at least one inch without flattening your breasts. The straps are made to sit closer at the back and stay where they are supposed to. This setup results in less pressure on the shoulder, thus lessening back pains.

You can also find underwire bras, soft cup bras and seamless bras under the plus size category. They also have satin or lace linings at the edges, providing increased beauty and sensuality. More comfort is obtained with a soft foam support ring under the cups. More importantly, these bras often have wider and padded straps, giving a feeling that the straps don't exist at all.

Most importantly you will experience a good fit and feel comfort while wearing this bra throughout the day, without it irritating the heck out of you.

Trying Large Size Bras

It has now become a need for manufacturer’s to survey busty women before they get to sewing bras. It has become a life long struggle for busty women to find a large size bras.Soon there will be a revolt when years of bottled up frustration breaks free. We are not demanding for anything big, so hear me.

The first fact, full figured women are no demanding push-up bras. In large size bras a push up bra does not exist. There are push out bras in the bigger sizes. No more efforts need be put to attract more attention to a women’s breasts if they are larger than B-cup. It will simply be overdoing it.

More than enough amount of time has been spent in making busts look bigger. If you still continue to manufacture large size bras, I think now is the time that these ladies already are endowed with large enough boobs. No more help is required from your side in this regard.

At the same time, we don’t desire to be suffocated in bras we put on. Many large size bras are manufactures so as to flatten the bust line. I found some great information at http://www.masspressreleases.com. In case of sports bra this is acceptable, but not for daily used undergarments. Large size bras are meant to be actually for large size breasts. We need ease to breathe, please.
Do also remember to decide about the actual sizes. I have noticed and done my research and found that no all cups are the same. But we still have to buy large size bras. The numbers are all your domain and I wish you all the luck you require.

The sizes are not all standardized. A D-cup for one company is a double D for another. There are even “almost” seizes that make me all the more angry. Ultimately we will have large size bras categorized as plus and minus. Soon we will hear things like: “I was a C-plus but I fell to C-minus.”

Ladies who have big boobs experience a lot of difficulty while shopping. Maybe large size bras are more in demand than regular full-figured ones. I hope never to find it out.

Our demands are pretty straightforward. We want a constancy and support in our large size bras. We don’t want to be asphyxiated and taken advantage of. Do give a good thought to these terms while sewing the large size bras. Same is definitely applicable to relationship between people. Nobody wants to be forced, subdued and taken for granted.

Bra Sizes and Bra Types - Finding the Right Fit!

Unlike years gone by, there is now a vast array of bra sizes and styles available to suit every taste and every figure. This is great news for those amongst us that are petite or larger than average. It is also great news for those that like to combine the practical benefits of a good bra with style, comfort and a dash of sexiness.

Getting a Good Fit

It is important that in order to get the most out of your bra you are fully aware of your correct bra size. This will not only improve posture and comfort, it will also ensure that your clothes are a much better fit. There's nothing quite as embarrassing as going out to a function with your breasts bulging from the sides of your under-sized bra - except, perhaps, going to a function and having your breasts fall out of an oversize bra!

Before you purchase a bra, you should always check your bra size. If you think you may have lost weight or put weight on since you last bought a bra, don't assume you will still be able to get in to the same size bra - measure up again!

The best way to check what bra size you need is to stand straight and wrap a tape measure around the ribcage, under the bust. Pull it so that it is firm but not tight. This will give you the size of your required band. To check the cup size you need, wrap the measure around the fullest part of the bust, and again pull until firm but not restrictively tight.

Whatever the inch size around the ribcage, you should add five to it (and round it up to the next even number if adding five gives you an odd number). This will give your band size. Then calculate the difference between the band size and the cup measurement to get your cup size. If the measurement you get when you measure for your cup size is the same as that of your band size once you have added five, your cup size will be A.

* Up to one inch difference is cup size B
* Up to two inches is cup size C
* Up to three inches is cup size D
* Up to four inches is cup size DD
* Up to five inches is cup size E
* Up to six inches is cup size F
* Up to eight inches is cup size G

The Perfect Fitting Bra Should:

* Contain the whole breast in each cup with no bulging or spillage
* Contain the whole breast in each cup without excess space in the front part of the cups
* Should rest levelly against the ribcage, with adequate room to slip two fingers in at the back
* Should support your breasts totally, and remain in place even if the straps are slipped off the shoulders
